Tumbleweed Films finds its core values in telling the stories of pioneers, dreamers and outsiders, celebrating cultural diversity and those who have the dream and imagination to create different ways of living closer to the environment and the human soul.
We create short documentary films and narrative contents worldwide, developing these projects from start to finish. Tumbleweed Films is built on the back of three independent filmmakers, and uses the help of external contractor professionals to achieve the highest quality results for each one and every project. The individual experience that each of our founding members brings to the team, taking years of work into consideration, within the realms of commercial, feature and documentary film, gives Tumbleweed a strong understanding of the contemporary landscape and styles of communication we live in.
For each project, Tumbleweed Films engages into deep research and understandings of the aesthetics, stakes and audiences that our stories and subjects deserve. Being adaptable and flexible, we strive to act with integrity and empathy when immersing ourselves in the contexts we document, eager to learn and treasure diversity while researching those aspects that define a rightful balance between the people, the work they do and the environment in which they do it.
Established in 2020 between Venice, Italy and Venice, California.
“Growing up in the northern Italy countryside I’ve always been attracted to movies as a way to travel realities and find inspiration. Witnessing the world and the consequences of this anthropocentric relationship between humans and nature, brought me to practice visual storytelling as a means to communicate and express the deep consequences of this condition. In 2012 I moved to Los Angeles to deepen my knowledge of cinematography and ended up work in the film industry. In recent years, environmental studies and sustainability are topics that fuel my creativity.”
After a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Film and a Certificate in Cinematography from UCLA extension Pietro is currently pursuing a Certificate in Sustainability. With experience in both indie filmmaking and studio productions, he worked for Paramount, Lakeshore Entertainment, MGM among others.

“The relationships with the environment and people surrounding me have always struck me in wondrous ways. Growing up in the countryside by the river, yet near enough to the city, I was able to decipher through the two very different worlds.
